The POC Food & Wine Festival is all about building and cultivating community. It’s a 3-day festival happening May 2-5, 2024 that brings the global majority together through food, wine, music, and culture.
From established to up-and-coming chefs, artisans, musicians, and more, the event celebrates our ever-growing presence as creators and tastemakers, all enthusiastically creating a colorful collage within the scenes of food, wine, entertainment, and other creative cultural pursuits.
A Diverse Showcase
The festival is a true labor of love by Make It Mariko, a San Francisco-based creative agency known for its exceptional work through Undiscovered SF Filipino Creative Market. The unique three-day celebration pushes to showcase and diversify the food and drink scene while bringing local artists and businesses into a wider and more accessible mainstream consciousness.
A Fully Packed Affair
Truly, there is no dull moment at the POC Food & Wine Festival! We suggest bringing an empty stomach, dance moves, and big shopping bags upon visiting the event.
For starters, Thursday will be welcomed with a Palestinian Family Meal by Chef Reem Assil, courtesy of Reem’s California. An intimate multi-course Palestinian feast complete with wines and spirit pairings provided by Terah Wine Co. and Terra Sancta Imports.
If there is ONE event for that weekend, Saturday to be exact, then this is THE one—The Main Dish Signature Tasting Experience, featuring delicious tastings from renowned chefs. The event boasts a “Palate Pass” experience featuring 14 curated food and drink pairings to satisfy the most discerning culinary and wine critics.
If you’re interested in exploring a journey of wellness and healing, the CBD Wine & Sound Bath is for you. Taste the flavors of CBD-infused wine and bites to calm your mind and body with an immersive sound bath.
For those who want to party, there’s the Brown is Beautiful After Party, a fashion-forward experience with signature cocktails, food, and live music by DJ Umami, RJ Kool Raul, and the GTC Band.
Last but not least, cap off your Sunday in style- the Closing Family Meal Experience with Big Bad Wolf offers an elevated culinary journey straight from Chef Haejin’s heart by way of a specially curated 6-course meal tailor-made just for the POC Food & Wine event.
Music and Merchant Overload
There will be no shortage of music, as DJ Shortkut, DJ Lady Ryan, and DJ Umami, to name a few, will be present to supply the soundtrack for the three-day celebration.
Shameless plug! Our very own from the HELLO HAPI and HAPI Mic squad will perform a set in the VIP Lounge at 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 4. Danielle Castrence, producer of HAPI Mic and Kyle Dombroski, sound and audio engineer for HELLO HAPI, are also bandmates in Hello Noon.
In addition, the three-day festival will be packed with various retailers and beverage vendors, including some of our favorites like Dokkaebier, Hot Boi Chili Oil, and Formosa Chocolates.
